Azita Ghanizada

Azita Ghanizada, the Afghan American actress in the United States who has appeared in several television series. Her birthplace was in Kabul Afghanistan her family fled their home country to the US in search of the right to stay in the US as asylum seekers. Ghanizada is the middle sibling of two sisters. She was born within Northern Virginia. Ghanizada's on-air camera career being featured in several National Commercials. For the Laura Neri film A Kiss on the Nose (2004) Ghanizada appeared in the role of the leading lady in Chiara an appearance for which she won an award for best actress at a film festival nomination. She's appeared in TV series like How I Met Your Mother as well as Entourage, Veronica Mars, The Wedding Bells NuMB3RS Bones Psych and Castle. Recent roles include an appearance as a character on the show Blood Shot, (2009) inspired by the science fiction movie Blood Shot and independent comedy You Only Better (2009). In 2008 Ghanizada became part of the cast for The General Hospital prime-time spin-off General Hospital. Season 2 of Night Shift saw Ghanizada playing Dr. Saira Bhatra, a physician who is a specialist in holistic medicine. Ghanizada appeared as Kelly on HBO's Entourage as well as joining on the team for the TV Tough Trade pilot.
